OVERVIEW
Our HR Business Partner reports to the Sr Director of Human Resources and supports the Field business units in the US and Canada at PrimeFlight Aviation. The HRBP is responsible for aligning business objectives and strategies with employees and management in designated business units as well lead our compliance obligations with Canada Labour standards and reporting requirements. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, anticipates HR-related needs, drives execution, is a successful change agent as well as a close collaborator with Legal and our Union partners. Our HR Partners formulate strong partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service, building trust and sustainable solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Spearhead and implement HR initiatives, with a focus on Canadian HR matters Primary contact on key aspects of employee relations such as conflict resolution, policy interpretation, performance management, fostering a positive workplace culture Lead and execute compliance and company response to Canada specific to Labour inquiries, regulations, filing and reporting requirements Build and leverage relationships at all levels in the organization, informing and assisting others while being viewed as a valued, trusted, and credible business partner Acts as a trusted advisor to client leaders, assisting them with a variety of business and employee relations matters Works with business leaders to effectively lead and execute HR initiatives for the organization Provides strategic guidance to business partners to implement solutions for employee relations issues trends, patterns Partner with business leaders regarding employee relations issues including corrective action, terminations, grievances, investigations, and escalations Implement success measures to coach leaders to be proactive in employee relations and avoid reactionary, non-sustainable situations Conduct company wide investigations including protected class allegations, employee relations concerns, EEOC complaints and escalations to senior leadership Identifies, capitalizes, and executes on opportunities to drive and/or lead change Facilitates effective change management initiatives Proactively works to support our leaders with organizational development, performance management, talent initiatives, leadership development programs and improving team member performance engagement Lead HR compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations and bargaining agreements, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA, Union Relations, Title VII Manage ongoing project plans, delivering timely results with accuracy Lead and facilitate meetings and identifies, builds, and delivers HR related trainings Collaborate across centers of excellence and team member experience teams to develop sustainable solutions to business challenges Create reports and build action plans based on data and metrics May create ad hoc reports and contribute to other duties, projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older Eligible to work in the United States Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR relevant experience in lieu of a degree Knowledge of Canada Labour Law, Regulations, and Reporting Requirements preferred HR certification, a plus (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) 5+ years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a managerial role Experience in HRIS systems, UKG experience a plus Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, employment, and laws Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and leadership skills Experience in change management and organizational development Excellent follow up and follow through Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills; must be able to multi-task, problem solve, prioritize, and work under pressure on tight timelines Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) and present information to stakeholders Ability to influence without authority, build strong connections across business units and throughout operations Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/French a plus Travel requirement <10% travel Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents Ability to support a 24/7 operation including holidays Pass a background check and drug screen
