Job Description:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience requiredSHRM or other HR certification preferred

Work Experiences:

At least three years of HRBP or HR Generalist experienceAdvanced knowledge and application of Human Resources principles, practices and employment lawDemonstrated experience in coaching leaders on driving performance and developmentHuman Resources experience in a retail and multi-unit environment preferred

Responsibilities:

Informs and recommends necessary development based on talent and performance assessmentsInfluences and supports the Talent Management agenda with business partnersAdvocates the use of feedback mechanisms and utilizes trends and suggestions to influence business decisions with business partnersProactively coaches and counselsSupports and monitors the alignment of HR services with the business and business partnersPromotes and educates others regarding the link between HR and business partner and the businessMaintains status as expert for progressive HR practices and key trends ensuring alignment with business partners and understanding impactSupports projects and/or HR initiatives/roll outs that require cross-functional expertiseEnsures fair, urgent dismissal of behaviors that jeopardize the brandTimely resolution of team member relations issues – compliant with labor law and company policyPartners with Talent Acquisition to stay informed of recruiting process for Corporate or Stores roles or executes the lifecycle recruiting process for DC hourly and temporary laborPlans and executes onboarding and/or orientation for new team members, including relevant documentation and presentationsCompensation consultation related to salary non-exempt or hourly level rolesDevelop a thorough understanding of and follow Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rulesResponsibilities may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Attendance

Frequent local and overnight travel if partnered with Store, occasional travel if partnered with Corporate or DCEmbraces flexible scheduling as needed to support business (early morning, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays)Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job dutiesAdhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
