Job summary:

Primary role of the HRBP is to provide business performance coaching and consulting to business client leaders in the areas of workforce planning, leadership and team effectiveness, organizational design and capability, change management, talent acquisition, performance management and other areas by providing a full-range of support to the business acting as an integrated HR function.

This role requires labor relations experience.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  

Provides clear and timely direction to the business on HR issues, and the implications of those issues on the business. Actively participates with the clients in business decisions. Provides coaching, counseling and consulting to the client on talent management in the areas of selection, assessment, development, retention and diversity. Ensures HR processes are aligned and support the business/corporate objectives. Keeps clients informed of changes in HR policies and procedures and counsel managers and employees on those changes. Be seen by the client as a credible, informed business partner as well as an employee advocate. Leads the identification and forecasting of the organization’s human resource needs. In conjunction with recruitment assists in the interviewing and selection process of potential candidates. Works closely with management to develop/update job descriptions and the needs assessment for key roles. Plans and administers the performance management system for the client group. Participates with management in disciplinary issues and employee relations matters. Manages the administration of salary planning with the client group. Maintains a working knowledge of environmental factors influencing the business (i.e. HR legislation, best practice trends). Must have strong business knowledge in order to influence and make effective decisions. Understands the environmental context of the type of industry/business of their client group. Meets client needs by providing the highest quality HR products/services through administrative excellence at all times which ultimately will result in achieving the client’s short and long term objectives. Establishes and maintains direct relationships with clients and earns their trust and respect by gathering feedback on a regular basis to understand and respond to changing client needs.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or other related field. Master’s degree preferred

Skills and Experience: 

8-10 years of experience in HR or equivalent of education and experience in labor relations, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to independently investigate, resolve and proactively address common employee relations issues in union environmentStrong knowledge of all relevant employment law issues and the willingness to proactively stay on top of legislation changes and local requirementsAbility to apply strategic context to tactical execution, working independently in a fast paced, matrixed global organizationExcellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
