**GENERAL DUTIES**
Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.
- Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
- Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
- Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
- Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
- Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Founded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens, LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York/CUNY. LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree and certificate programs, as well as dozens of workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 25,000 students. More than one-third of our degree-seeking students were born outside of the United States, coming to LaGuardia from 136 countries and speaking forty-three heritage languages. More than half are first-generation college students. Sixty-nine percent live in Queens; the rest live in Brooklyn and beyond. Approximately two-thirds of our degree students receive financial aid. The Human Resources Coordinator will work closely with the CUNY Central Office Civic Service and campus HR teams to ensure the successful processing of all civil service personnel transactions and administrative reporting is completed in a timely manner. The Human Resources Coordinator will report to the HR Manager and perform the following duties:
+ Provide quality employee relations service for all Civil Service staff;
+ Monitor the performance evaluation and merit award processes for the appropriate Civil Service titles; Provide guidance and training on performance evaluations and merit award processes as needed;
+ Processthenewhire, background checks and separationdocumentsforallCivilServicetitles;
+ MonitorE-verify,Tumbleweed,TruView,andotherbackgroundcheckorreportingsoftwarefor updated results and notifications;
+ ViewanddownloadHRrelatedreports using CUNYFirstanduploadedinformation toSharePoint, Tumbleweed, orother HR integrated system when necessary;
+ Collaborate with CUNY Central Office to ensure proper data extracts that will be used in data conversion, utilizing software such as SharePoint, Tumbleweed and Access;
+ InvestigateandresolveissuesinvolvingmissinginformationorerrorsinCUNYFirst;
+ Createspreadsheetswithrevisionsandnewdataforvariouscivilserviceactions;
+ PreparesandsubmitsdatatoCUNYCentralforreviewandapprovaltoupdateCUNYFirst;
+ EnsurescompliancewithuniversitypolicytoabidebymandatesofCity,Stateguidelinesand regulations;
+ AttendallCUNYFirstrelatedtrainingsandmeetingsfortheCommunityCollegesandparticipateinall Civil Service informational sessions as required by CUNY Central;
+ Provide support with testing new components of CUNYFirst and other EDP systems and provide feedback when necessary.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's Degree required.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Attention to detail is required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
**COMPENSATION**
$44,411 - $51,781
Salary is commensurate with education and experience
**BENEFITS**
