Position-specific material may be appended.   GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR PURPOSE OF JOB:   This role provides customer service for employees on health and welfare benefit programs, basic generalist services, project support and process administration at an assigned location       RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:    Item Responsibility/Function % Time 1 Assist HR leader with HR administration: Track and maintain all personnel records, including HRIS (People Soft) data entry and other related HR reports Maintain records on completed performance reviews, status changes, and time worked for seniority/service awards Coordinate merit process, vacation and PPTO accruals and other projects Assists in department budget monitoring Advise employees/managers on policies and procedures 40 2 Employee Health and Welfare Benefits, Safety, and FMLA administration Distribute and process plan enrollment materials Assist with processing employee disability claims Manage FMLA recordkeeping/administration Assist in Safety and Wellness issues Processes adoption and life insurance claims Assist in resolving employee benefit issues 40 3 Coordinate the job posting and new hire process Post positions, keep applicant flow information, and initiate offer letters Initiate and complete new employee paperwork Conduct new employee orientation 10 4 Coordinate and lead or participate in various employee programs and HR projects such as training programs, health initiatives, annual open enrollment, blood drive, job fairs, presentations, service awards, birthday cake/card, etc.). 10   SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:   Number of people DIRECTLY supervised Title(s) or Grade Level(s) of direct report(s) None Individual Contributor   JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:  Note that (i) computer literacy and working-level skill with the basic MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer), (ii) good verbal and written communication skills, (iii) good interpersonal skills, and (iv) the ability to work well both individually and in a team environment are default requirements for all Jostens exempt and salaried nonexempt employees.   Required: AA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in HR Basic knowledge of HR concepts and HR law Working knowledge of HR processes Ability to work on HRIS system/Time & Attendance system Ability to work with minimal supervision Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; results oriented Assertive, self-starter, ability to work independently Maintenance of confidential information is required Must fully observe the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Jostens’ HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures in all matters involving protected health information when working with the Jostens health plan. Preferred: Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Business, HR) Typical/expected % of overnight travel:    Limited, occasional   CONTACTS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
