HR Generalist

About the Opportunity

Join our team as a Human Resources Generalist at Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting various HR functions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, employment law compliance, and payroll.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization associates; assists in the development and implementation of associate policies and procedures; prepares and assists in maintaining the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual. Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and associates. Processes bi-weekly payroll. Coaches associates and managers through employment-related issues. Assists in developing and leading training opportunities for Site Managers and associates. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed. Works with Site Managers to schedule new hire orientations, assure attendance for new associates and leads orientation as needed. Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to HR activities such as staffing, training and performance evaluations. Assists in onboarding new associates. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Identifies processes and procedures that need improvement and applies a creative approach to problem solving. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

About the Candidate

Bachelor’s degree preferred 3+ years of Human Resources experience Payroll experience (ADP preferred)
