Overview Assists and executes various Human Resources functions including employee relations, staffing, orientation, benefits administration, payroll, workers compensation, training, safety programs, and compliance to federal, state, and local employment and safety laws and company policies. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: Building Capability: Develops, coordinates and conducts knowledge/skill, policy and supervisory training for employees/supervisors Acts as a business partner to management team to develop and implement initiatives to support the overall mission of facilities. Oversees HR activities through planning and communication with department managers and supervisors to ensure the overall HR objectives are accomplished. Reviews with and advises supervisors and managers on all policy interpretations, disciplinary actions and terminations to ensure consistency. Drives progress toward inclusion and ensures diversity of talent. Consults with leadership on training and development needs within their teams to support talent review process and succession planning. Partners with the HR Manager in organizational transformation initiatives and partners with the leadership team in elevating the performance of the business. Associate Engagement: Drives employee engagement, ensuring that employees voices are heard, suggestions are addressed, and continuous improvement actions are taken. Coordinates communications: from Town Halls to beginning of shift meetings, ensuring that clear and consistent messages are shared between leadership and the workforce. In partnership with the HR Manager, coaches and counsels leaders and employees on employee relations matters consistent with company policies, legal considerations and company priorities serving as an advocate for both employee and company concerns. Conducts investigations and addresses issues as appropriate. Develops and implements successful action plans to address identified disengagement. Drives organizational health, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity and culture initiatives. Talent Acquisition: In collaboration with leadership, develops and executes, short- and long-term plans to recruit and fill open direct labor positions, monitoring progress to ensure alignment. Supports client groups in effectively identifying and planning for future talent needs and continually upgrading the talent we bring into the organization Creatively utilizes appropriate channels to establish sourcing pool of talent that generates quality candidates in a timely and thorough manner. Identify and support ongoing activity related to succession planning. Total Rewards Management Partners with the HR Manager and Total Rewards COE to effectively implement and communicate compensation and benefits programs to successfully attract, motivate and retain employees. Other Responsibilities Includes Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies. Compiles and submits information for all required monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Maintains confidential electronic and hard-copy employee data, files and records for the location. Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Qualifications Minimum of bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 3 years of prior experience as an HR supporting internal customers. Prefer experience dealing with complex human resources business challenges, preferably coming from a progressive human resources environment. Experienced in working through associate relations issues. Supported internal customers with strong, effective coaching and performance management Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work independently and work with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft office applications, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word PHR/SPHR certification preferred. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the facility. Steel-toed shoes and high visibility workwear are required in the facility in accordance with company GMP and safety standards. Working hours will normally involve first (daytime) shift, but also includes periodic time on second and third shifts, and limited weekend work.
