HR Generalist
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an HR Generalist located in Syracuse, New York. Responsibilities: • Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Manage and administer the organization's employee benefits programs, liaising with insurance carriers and ensuring employees are well informed about their benefits. • Administer employee leave policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. • Maintain and update accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and legal compliance. • Coordinate recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job ads, screening applications, and assisting in interviews. • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including administrative tasks and HR orientation. • Assist with employee termination processes, including issuing termination letters and responding to unemployment claims. • Interpret, administer, and assist in ensuring compliance with organizational policies and rules. • Respond to and provide support to employees and managers on various HR-related topics, assisting in resolving issues effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now • Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode • Knowledge of Ceridian and Dayforce software • Experience in handling Benefit Functions • Exceptional Communication skills • Understanding of Compliance regulations in a non-profit setting • Ability to manage Employee Relations • Knowledge of FMLA laws and regulations • Experience in processing Bi-weekly Payroll • Skills in Onboarding new employees • Non-profit industry experience is preferred • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field • At least 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
