The Office Human Resources seeks a proactive and detail-oriented HR professional to manage the employee recognition program, coordinate service awards, conduct exit surveys, and oversee website management. Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will perform various human resources functions to support daily department operations and will be a crucial front-line ambassador supporting sensitive office operations. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview information, other key duties include, but will not be limited to, the following: • Support daily HR department operations and ensure smooth office functions. • Manage the employee recognition program and coordinate service awards to foster a positive work environment. • Track and manage exit surveys to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement, following up as necessary. • Update the department’s website, including HR documents, forms, and department data ensuring content remains current to support department and campus needs. • Continuously track mandatory University compliance training, including WPV, ESPARC, and GBVT, and follow up as needed and support campus training initiatives by sending out communications and conducting in-person and virtual training presentations. • Create and deliver virtual and in-person professional development trainings, and support campus training initiatives. • Run reports, compile training data, and support university-wide training metrics. • Maintain employee records, ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations, and update employee information on Blackboard to keep training data accurate and up to date. • Liaise with campus training staff at University Human Resources to support Blackboard issues and resolution. • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. • Assist with conducting the New Employee Orientations as needed and maintaining the orientation schedule. **QUALIFICATIONS** **MINMUM** Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required. **PREFERRED** • Four (4) years of work experience in human resources, with a focus on workforce development, training, and development within a higher education institution or other complex organization. • Detail-oriented and accurate with strong critical analysis, evaluation, and research skills. • Effective writing, editing, interpersonal communication skills, and strong presentation and group facilitation skills. • Customer-focused, pro-active, flexible, and collaborative work style to successfully navigate a complex political landscape and forge successful relationships and partnerships with diverse members of the university community and external constituents of various levels. • Strong organizational and follow-through skills to develop and execute work plans, prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. • Strong work ethic and character with high personal integrity to handle documents with the utmost discretion, maintain confidentiality, and safeguard sensitive staff-specific information. • Computer proficiency in Excel, LMS, HRIS Platforms, databases, and programs, plus Microsoft Office programs and remote/virtual meeting and collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.). **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Administers various Human Resources functions and programs for one or more employee group(s) exercising discretion and independent judgment. - Oversees two or more human resources functions for an employee group, such as, but not limited to, staffing, recruitment, employee relations, appointment administration, compensation, human resource information systems (HRIS), training and development, benefits, and/or administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs. - Ensures human resources functions, programs, and actions are in compliance with university rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, employment laws, and college policies and procedures. - Interprets and provides professional counsel and advice to employees and managers on HR programs and policies, CUNY rules, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable employment laws. Researches and resolves multifaceted human resources issues. - Recommends new approaches, best practices, policies, and systems to improve office efficiency and services provided. - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Higher Education Assistant **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** Salary range is $64,649 - $72,667; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
