HR Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Property HR Generalist is responsible for performing administrative related duties on a professional level and works closely with Big Cypress and Big Cedar Lodge Management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Performance reviews, compensation, onboarding new employees, conducting pre-employment drug test, data reporting, employee relations, accounting, and policy implementation. This position also manages several key processes and requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides exceptional guest service to both internal and external guests.

Answers incoming calls professionally.

Oversees all HR functions included but not limited to sourcing/screening candidates, onboarding, data reporting, keeping up with HRIS system.

Assists in employee engagement and upholding brand culture.   

Assists in training and onboarding of new associates.

Assists in talent acquisition and recruitment process.

Communicates proactively and works with departmental managers to resolve employee concerns and issues.

Processes terminations, assists with severance letters, and uniform recovery.

General Office duties.

Coaches and advises employees regarding HR programs, practices, and procedures.

Collects vendor bids for approval.

Processes month end entries and reconciliations.

Compares purchase order to invoices for approvals to pay.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Degree:  Bachelor's Degree in business, HR, finance or related field

Years of experience:  2+

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).

Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules that apply to job (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA, ASI).

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.

Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.

Originality - The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about products, services or situations, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.

Regular computer work, walking, sitting and standing

Occasional lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
