Position Overview
The HR Intern position is a temporary full-time role that will support day-to-day operations of the HR office of an environmental consulting firm based in Islandia, NY. Your main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g. employment records) and updating internal databases. Our ideal candidate can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner, is a strong team player, and has a customer service orientation. The internship is expected to start no later than May 1st and conclude in September.
Position Requirements
High School diploma required; Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with Human Resources concentration preferred Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel Excellent organizational and time management skills Excellent attention to detail and pride in high quality of work product Strong verbal and written communications skills, with ability to communicate professionally and courteously with internal customers Possess a customer service orientation which requires timely responses to all employee inquiries and contributing towards the solution of any obstacles that arise Ability to work autonomously on tasks assigned by supervisor or HR Director while also functioning as a team player within the HR group Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of HR and medical related data Ability to work in the office 5 days per week, 6-8 hours per day. A part-time schedule at the beginning and end of the internship may be available for candidates completing college requirements during those times.Essential Duties
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources function Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies), which includes scanning documents into electronic employee files and organizing electronic files Receive employee requests regarding human resources issues and employment rules and promptly relay to the appropriate internal HR contact for resolution Handle all HR mailings and receive/disseminate all incoming HR mail to the appropriate internal contact

Base Pay Range: $18 - 20 an hour. This pay range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity.
