HR & Labor Relations Business Partner

We are looking for a HR & Labor Relations Business Partner to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

Implements CW policies and coordinates human resources activities such as recruiting, employee communications, compensation, employee relations, training and development and EEO/Affirmative action programs.  Will be responsible for managing workplace relationships between employees, management, and one of our unions on site.

Your Challenge:

Work closely with senior management business partners to facilitate effective decision-making and drive organizational success.

Provides support to employees on various HR related topics such as leaves of absence, compensation problem resolution, HRIS Systems access, and any other employee relations concerns.

Provide guidance and counsel to management and employees on labor relations issues and collective bargaining agreements.

Communicate with both union leaders and company management regarding labor issues, assist in negotiation of labor contracts, and ensure that the organization is following relevant labor laws and regulations. 

Assist in communication of strategies and/or messages from senior management.  Manage internal communications such as policy changes, organizational announcements, or employee event notices.

Process changes in employee status in a timely manner for data entry into our Workday HRIS system.

Conduct investigations of alleged discrimination, employee relation issues, and ethics as needed; recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Provide practical, consistent, and proactive support and guidance to management on HR issues and work together to identify practical solutions.

Continue building relationships with universities, technical schools, and other educational institutions to grow robust employee pipeline programs.

Act as liaison between management and our Talent Acquisition team to develop interview questions, interviewing process, selection of candidate and developing an offer.

Coordinate with management for training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, and performance reviews.

Act as primary contact for all employee related inquiries and respond in a prompt, professional manner

What you Bring:

Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens

Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals

BS Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

Labor Relations experience required

Five plus years of progressive growth as an HR Generalist

Workday experience preferred

Master’s degree a plus

PHR or SPHR certification a plus
