HR Liaison, Lead

Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Employee Experience, the Lead HR business partner supports the HR Liaison Team by providing guidance and stepping in as needed to ensure seamless delivery of services. This position will serve as a resource to address gaps, provide coverage, and coordinate efforts across the team. The Team helps departments achieve their missions through navigating policies both directly and indirectly related to HR activities. The Lead collaborates with other HR functions to address issues and advance University goals.
Job Responsibilities Include:
+ Guides and supports the team through thoughtful planning, training, and day-to-day guidance. Helps build a strong team focused on providing effective HR support and services. Collaborates with leadership to recommend improvements to processes and workflows. Coordinates team scheduling, leave management, and coverage. Works with the team to adapt to the changing needs of the University.
+ Steps in to fill coverage gaps and provide hands-on support with key HR processes, such as including recruitment planning, compliance, and onboarding; conducting investigations and addressing employee relations issues; overseeing disciplinary actions and grievance responses; supporting terminations and non-renewals; assisting with job documentation and classification in collaboration with the compensation team; and advising on organizational structure to ensure alignment with university policies and best practices.
+ Provides ongoing training and coaching to team members to ensure consistent service delivery, alignment with best practices, and continuous professional development. Collaborates with team members to identify skill gaps and develop tailored coaching to enhance knowledge-sharing. Designs and delivers organization-wide training programs for various audiences, including supervisors, staff, and faculty, on topics such as compliance, performance management, selection committee best practices, HR-related systems, and software usage. Serves as a resource to develop customized training materials and workshops to meet the specific needs of different units and departments.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in HR, Management, Labor Relations or related field
+ Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience
+ Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, including performance management and developing improvement plans
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may also satisfy the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree
+ PHR or SHRM -CP certification
+ Experience working in higher education

Advertised Salary:
Target hiring range – $68,299 – $92,205 annually.
