HR Manager – Spain & Portugal
As an Interim HR Manager supporting our operations in Spain and Portugal, you will play a key leadership role in fostering strong relationships with managers and employees while ensuring the seamless implementation of HR strategies and corporate initiatives in the region. Reporting directly to the HR Director for Europe, you will be the go-to person for addressing employee relations issues, providing strategic advice on HR and recruitment matters, and driving HR excellence across our offices in these countries.
This interim position is for up to 12 months, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while contributing to the success of our global operations. Strong interpersonal skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to navigate complex HR matters are essential for this role. This a Hybrid role with 2-3 days in our office in Carnaxide.
What you will do:
Educate and advise managers on statutory or regulatory requirements in one or more areas of staff management such as compensation, benefits, recruitment, selection, and performance management.
Manage all employee relations cases in Portugal and Spain.
Support recruitment and Talent Acquisition, including onboarding and ongoing performance reviews.
Manage benefits administration, including employee enrollments and terminations, claims resolution, change reporting to carriers and brokers, and timely communication of benefits information and eligibility to employees.
Ensure data integrity of local employee records on the HRIS system.
Manage annual compensation reviews, including salary, bonuses, and commissions.
Provide support to global HR and recruitment initiatives as required.
Execute HR administrative tasks, such as working hours tracking in Portugal and Spain, ensuring compliance with local laws and tracking overtime hours in the HRIS system.
Support yearly HR budget planning and ensure that the regional HR budget remains within limits.
Coordinate EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) activities and measures.
Perform other duties as required.
What you bring:
Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in Portugal or Spain.
Proven record of managing HR in a multi-regional setting.
Previous experience managing an HRIS, preferably BambooHR.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Portuguese (Spain language skills are a plus).
Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with team members, utilizing tact, diplomacy, and compromise.
Demonstrated superior organizational and time management skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
