McLarens Asia

McLarens has had a presence in Asia for over 50 years. Today we employ around 400 staff across 30 offices in 12 countries: China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

 

Summary

The HR Manager role will be based in Bangkok, Thailand, reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner. While stationed in Thailand, the HR Manager is expected to offer regional support to leaders and staff throughout Asia.

 

The Human Resources Manager will assist the Senior HR Business Partner with valuable operational tasks and provide advisory support to McLarens Asia’s business units on a comprehensive range of human resources functions. This includes, but is not limited to, performance management, employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, learning and development, and other HR initiatives. The HR Manager will be instrumental in aiding the Senior HR Business Partner in managing HR operations across 12 countries in Asia. This position entails independently overseeing HR activities for specific countries while also contributing to broader regional HR projects.

 

The ideal candidate is hands-on, passionate about people, and enjoys making operational and strategic contributions. The incumbent will also act as an advisor to staff and assist the Senior HR Business Partner in delivering extensive HR solutions and support across various business units in Asia.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Manage day-to-day HR operations for assigned countries, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies. Provide seamless support to employees and line managers on end-to-end resolution of HR queries. Address employee concerns and grievances, fostering a positive work environment. Support the Senior HR Business Partner in various HR plans, initiatives and projects for the Asia region; to ensure consistency across HR-related transactions, projects, and initiatives.  Drive and be responsible for specific projects by collaborating on region-wide HR initiatives and projects, contributing to the development and implementation of HR strategies. Coordinate and manage logistics of internal and external training in Asia. Monitor the training effectiveness of the programs. Analyze HR data and metrics to facilitate insight driven discussion on people analytics and trends. Assist the Senior HR Business Partner in the compensation planning and performance evaluation process. Support the implementation of performance management systems, including appraisals and feedback mechanisms. Advise managers on labour laws and various regulations related to employees; ensure that the company complies with labour laws and regulations. Together with the Line manager be responsible for rolling out new HR modules and analytics of Success Factors and keeping Success Factors up to date. Provide coaching and feedback to line managers performance management and driving team engagement. Coordinate and engage with the Admin/ Finance teams across the region for manpower update, onboarding and offboarding of staff. Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements in the respective countries.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or any business discipline, with a minimum of 5 -7 years proven HR experience.
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
• Commercial acumen and focus on client partnerships.
• Experience and familiarity with Success Factors will be an advantage.
• Proficient in HR analytics - defining problems, collecting relevant data, and drawing valid conclusions
• Experience in professional services industry a plus but not required.
• Must have the ability to exercise discretion over confidential and sensitive employment information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
