Reporting: This position reports to the Director of the Durban Assembly Plant. You will be part of the Management team for the plant, and you will also represent the plant in the People & Culture Country Committee for Volvo Group South Africa. In addition to this you will be a member of GTO IM People & Culture and Safety Networks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, guide, mentor, develop, and support your team to accomplish great things Responsible for the support, execution, and coordination of our People & Culture processes: Actively work with all Labor related activities, to ensure good dialogue and effective cooperation with our union representatives. Proactively build and promote strong employee trust and open communication at all levels. Strengthening, promoting and embedding a safety culture and support the organization in the H&S work Actively work with all Labor related activities, to ensure good dialogue and effective cooperation with our union representatives. Ensure the plant complies with related employment laws, legislation, and applicable Volvo policies. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of People & Culture reporting data including headcount and workforce planning forecasts within the business unit for employees and consultants. Be an active member in the VGSA People & Culture Committee to grow and support the overall People & Culture work in Volvo Group South Africa.
Qualification & Job Experience Relevant degree in Behavioral Science / People & Culture Management. MBA will be an advantage. Minimum 5 years People & Culture experience at a Senior Management Level. Experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment is an advantage. Experience of working with and applying the NBF & MIBCO agreements. CCMA Experience. Extensive experience in fostering a safety culture. Ability to represent the organization in relevant external forums.

Possess a deep understanding and extensive experience in fostering a safety culture, Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly with high quality. Sound business knowledge with experience from continuous improvements. Extensive knowledge and understanding of operational People & Culture.
