The HR Manager will oversee the HR department's daily operations while contributing to the development and execution of HR strategies that align with the organization’s overall goals. The HR Manager will lead the HR team, providing guidance and support across various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and organizational culture. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive work environment, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Company spokesperson, Chief Compliance Officer (AAP), and HIPAA Privacy Officer, as necessary. Reports directly to Director HR.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and promote organizational effectiveness.
Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership on people-related matters.
Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, providing guidance on HR best practices and fostering continuous professional development.
Drive organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and strong employee buy-in.
Recruitment & Talent Management:
Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring that the company attracts and retains top talent.
Develop and maintain effective recruitment strategies to meet staffing needs and ensure diverse candidate pools.
Collaborate with department heads to understand workforce needs and develop succession plans.
Foster an inclusive and positive work environment to enhance employee retention.
Performance Management & Employee Development:
Lead the development and implementation of performance management systems, including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and employee growth through training programs and career development initiatives.
Support managers in addressing performance issues and implementing employee improvement plans.
Provide guidance on coaching, feedback, and professional development for employees at all levels.
Compensation & Benefits:
Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness within the industry.
Manage salary structure, incentive plans, bonuses, and other compensation initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.
Evaluate employee benefits programs to ensure they meet the needs of the workforce while remaining cost-effective.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
Act as a trusted advisor and resource for employees, addressing workplace concerns, resolving conflicts, and mediating disputes.
Promote a positive organizational culture by implementing employee engagement programs and initiatives.
Conduct employee surveys and assessments to measure engagement, then develop action plans based on results.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations to mitigate legal risks related to employee relations.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, including health and safety standards.
Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring data confidentiality and security.
Stay current on HR-related legislation and best practices, recommending changes as needed to minimize risk.
HR Policies & Procedures:
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support the organization’s goals and ensure fair treatment of employees.
Ensure that policies are consistently applied and updated as necessary to comply with legal and industry changes.
Reporting & Analytics:
Track key HR metrics, such as turnover rates, time-to-hire, employee engagement, and compensation trends, to assess HR effectiveness.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership on HR initiatives and outcomes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).
HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources.
Experience in managing a team and implementing strategic HR initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and employees at all levels.
In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal regulations.
Experience with HRIS systems and other HR software.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and improve employee engagement.
Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.
Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
Able to hear ordinary conversations/phone communications
Air Conditioned/and/or heated office setting and manufacturing environment
