HR Payroll Specialist
Job Summary: The Human Resource Generalist supports the Human Resource Manager in administering payroll and benefits for all company personnel and performs other Human Resource functions as assigned. Essential Functions: 1. Processes payroll: Ensures compliance with IRS regulations; maintains employee records; conducts regular journal entries and account reconciliations. 2. Maintains timesheets: Tracks employee timesheets and documents time off and overtime. 3. Administers employee benefit plans: Ensures timely enrollment and contributions; processes administrative requests; maintains records; participates in annual audits. 4. Performs accounting function for the Human Resource Department: Creates invoices within the company accounting system and creates and maintains reports as needed. 5. Maintains professional and technical knowledge and attends human resource seminars and workshops. 6. Other Duties: Performs other duties from time to time as assigned by the Human Resource Manager. Job duties may change at any time with or without notice. Skills and Qualifications: 1. A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field, and at least three years of human resource experience required. 2. Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficient knowledge of software systems used for payroll and benefits administration required. 3. Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional preferred. Work Environment and Physical Demands: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours worked are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may occasionally require longer work hours and weekend work. This position reports to the Human Resource Manager. Travel: Travel, if needed, is primarily during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be necessary.
