Summary This National Guard position is for a HR Assistant (Military), Position Description Number NGT5091000 and is part of HQ SDANG. This is a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: -The Public Responsibilities As a HR Assistant, GS-0203-07, you will: The purpose of this position is to perform clerical and technical work supporting military personnel programs, operations, and functions in the State Air National Guard (ANG) Headquarters. Assignments involve final decisions and recommendations that are of major significance to affected military personnel and their dependents. . Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications General Experience - Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience - 12 months equivalent to the next lower grade in the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) listed. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of basic office work such as records review, email communication, and filing documents. Knowledge of a variety of computer systems, to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Skill to prepare reports to explain basic personnel information. Skill to communicate personnel information to others within an organization. Skill in researching and interpreting policies, regulations and/or instructions.
