Summary About the Position: The incumbent monitors, administers and manages various programs to provide direct support to members in the United States Army, with emphasis upon the United States Army Reserve. Responsibilities Routes packets through decision makers and informs applicants of decisions. Composes correspondence detailing final decision to concerned individuals. Ensures all procedural and administrative tasks are performed for the timely and correct completion of actions. Composes correspondence detailing final decisions to concerned individual. Manages programs as they relate to USAR cohort of Commissioned Officers, Warrant Officers and Enlisted Soldiers. Ensures approved applicants are appointed and scheduled for required training. Reviews packets to ensure applicants meet established qualifications and requests additional information. Independently manage assigned program duties within established daily, weekly, monthly management procedures and guidelines. Reviews changes in component policies, regulations and identifies impact of changes. Specialized Experience Required: To qualify based on your resume, the resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes and prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: I have one year of specialized experience that includes implementing laws, policies and procedures, utilizing Army regulations; receiving, reviewing, processing, personnel actions; researching, reviewing and responding to a variety of inquiries pertaining to programs that includes Direct Appointments, Warrant Officer Candidate Programs, Officer Candidate School, Reserve Officer Training Corps Accessions, Army Inter-Service Transfer, Call to Active Duty Program, Direct Commission for both Special and Basic Branch Officers, Active Guard Reserve Accessions, Appointment Scroll management to provide direct support to members in the United States Army, with emphasis upon the United States Army Reserve. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
