The Human Resources Specialist will provide general HR related support to the HR Business Partner team.

Responsibilities

Main Ingredients:

Prepare timely responses to unemployment claims and prepare supporting documentation and attend unemployment hearings.Track status of unemployment claims.Review and communicate status of background checks to hiring managers.Partner with HRBP in managing background checks that do not meet requirements and initiate adverse action letters in the background checking system.Complete adverse action letter templates in states where detailed reasons are required.Perform file checks for internal candidates who are applying for a promotion or former Crew to determine whether the candidate meets eligibility.Perform attendance audits and recording data as requested to support attendance written warnings.Conduct Care Inspection phone calls at stores where HRBPs will be visiting and identify follow-up required for HRBP’s regional travel.Respond to 1st level HR related phone and email inquiries and requests.Review and Disseminate 2nd level HR inquiries to the appropriate group or person.Review and approve 1st level Crew warnings for store management.Provides support to the LOA and HRIS team as needed.Assist in responding Crew related customer service complaintsPerform other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Recipe for Success:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required, college degree a plusMinimum 1 year of experience in Human Resources with a broad base of all HR disciplines and application; onboarding to separation.General knowledge of HR laws--Federal and StateDemonstrated effective judgment in managing difficult situations with ability to respond to situations with urgency, in a calm and proactive mannerAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically or through other means to individuals or groups. Customer service orientedProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsHRIS experience preferredMulti-site retail experience preferredStrong ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesPossesses general business acumen and financial knowledgeStrong organization and time management skills

Environmental Requirements:

Must be able to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and congested worksite. Must be able to occasionally work with noise, cold, heat, wet, humid, outside, heights, and contact stress.
