Summary

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and HR support to the HR Department and team. This support includes: HRIS data processing for Corporate, Renewables and Subsidiary employees, employment verifications, I-9 compliance, new hire orientations, filing, and data security.

Primary Duties

Responsible for maintenance of employee data in HRIS Process any changes, updates, new hires and terminations in HRIS Conduct ongoing double checks of employee data changes made in HRIS Ensure HR department is following appropriate data security and record retention standards Conduct new hire orientation meetings Conduct Form I-9 verifications and complete E-Verify Provide administrative support to HRBP Provide employment verifications as needed Upload copies of employee personnel files to HRIS as needed Distribute HR mail, including unemployment claims, to the appropriate HR business partner as needed Special Projects as assigned in support of Human Resources, Payroll and Recruiting

Scope of Responsibilities

Operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties independently with general direction given. Decisions are made within prescribed operating guidelines. Job involves a moderate degree of administrative complexity with some recurring work situations. Ability to work with personnel from all levels of the company as contacts are made with others inside and outside the company including customers, department heads, immediate associates, supervisor and employees. Contacts are usually made on own initiative concerning routine reporting and exchange of information. Over time, this position has the opportunity to grown in terms of scope of responsibility.

All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customers' needs are being met.

Compensation

The initial compensation range is $47,200 - $54,000

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of other comparable education, training and experience is desired. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in employee benefits, HR, and HRIS systems is desired. UltiPro/UKG experience is highly desired.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated experience providing administrative support. Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills required. Strong computer literacy including spreadsheet and word processing programs required. The ability to maintain confidentiality and align priorities required. Attention to detail, a drive to continuously improve processes, and a desire to develop personal capabilities will ensure success in this role. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some travel may be required to meet client or project requirements.

Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
