The HR Specialist I is responsible for providing essential support to the Human Resources department with various administrative tasks and daily operations. Primary duties include onboarding and offboarding employees, processing benefit-related paperwork and answering general employee inquiries. This role involves working closely with employees at all levels and requires strong communication, organization and attention to detail. The HR Specialist I should also have a general understanding of HR rules and regulations. 

Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the HR Team (i.e. benefits, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, etc.)Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and orientation is scheduled and communicatedAssist with Welcome OrientationMaintain and update HR related documents and databases, employee files, reports and onboarding materials for all employeesAddress basic employee inquiries, escalating to appropriate HR team member, as neededAssist with implementation of HR initiatives and programsSupports HR team in ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations as well as internal policies and proceduresUpdates, maintains, and improves upon current processes and procedures

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent2+ years of work experience in Human Resources or an administrative role in a similar departmentProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteWorkday HCM and HR / Benefits experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer relations skillsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectivelyAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalismStrong team player with analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skillsAbility to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in various situations
