Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience specific to the areas of benefits and payroll. You will work closely with HR Centers of Excellence to support the organization’s HR initiatives and employee relations.

The hourly rate for this role, at the time of posting, is estimated to be within the range below based on class standing. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Sophomore: $18 - $21 per hour
Junior: $19 - $23 per hour
Senior: $21 - $25 per hour
Master's: $22 - $28 per hour
This is What You Will do in This Role:
Participate in Workday implementation specifically for the Payroll and Benefits modulesAssist employees in enrolling in benefits, import and export benefit data to carriers, and process change of life eventsAssist in managing wellness program activities, including organizing events, processing reimbursements, and creating well-being contentSupport the implementation and rollout of the new Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Perform quality checks and audits of benefits and payroll related dataDevelop, document, and maintain policies and procedures that support accurate and timely multi-state payroll processingPerform basic payroll processing including time imports, balancing, and data integritySuccessfully navigate and maintain data in our HRIS systems (Workday, UltiPro, and others)Partner on projects, business transformation activities, and additional duties as assignedDevelop a variety of communications, including flyers, employee notices and emails, surveys, and Viva Engage contentUnderstand the full cycle of work in specialty areas of HR (Payroll, Benefits)Utilize HCM software and participate in systems implementationDetermine a career path by engaging in hands-on experienceReal life on-the-job experience of how HR work interacts with a variety of lawsExposure to working in a global companyBuild a professional network with colleagues in the industryWhat We are Looking For:

You must be a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or universityActively perusing a degree in Human Resources Currently in your Sophomore or Junior year Ability to work at Dematic's North American Headquarters, located in Grand Rapids, MI. Driven to gain hands on experience specific to Benefits and PayrollExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as a part of a teamExperience with Microsoft Excel, Workday experience is a plusBasic understanding of local employment laws and governance Participate in various Future Talent Programing events, such as weekly professional development sessions, a team-based innovation challenges and endless development opportunities.
