Provides tactical and technical support to Human Resources (HR) employees. Serves as the first point of contact for inquiries relative to HR systems. Reviews, conducts research, tests, and works through complex requests within the HR information systems (HRIS). Brings issues to resolution individually and through partnership with other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs). This position requires intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail, execution skills and the ability to identify trends and provide solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:Receive and respond to service requests from HR COEs in a timely manner; analyze simple to moderately complex data based on team intake to enhance procedures.Update and process HRIS tasks of a regular and moderately complex nature.Review, research, and resolve inquiries made by HR COEs. Partner with HR COEs to solve problems requiring intervention in Workday.Through support of HR COEs, identify areas of opportunity to improve the experience of end users.Participate in testing of new Workday changes to provide feedback as needed.Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities:No supervisory responsibilities. The HR Support team is a centralized group that provides support services to HR COEs – primarily supporting business as usual administration needs for HR within HR’s HRIS system, Workday. This position provides quality service and works with internal HR partners to provide a resolution or transact a change in the HRIS system, Workday.

Education and Experience Required:Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communications and a minimum of 2 years HR operational, analytics, HRIS system, or other relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years' higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 2 years HR operational, analytics, HRIS system or other relevant work experienceProficient in the use of Personal Computers including word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and industry specific software.Strong verbal and written communication skillsProven customer service skillsDemonstrated proficiency of quickly responding to a wide variety of topics in an accurate and timely fashionProven problem-solving skillsEducation and Experience Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communications and 2 years HR operational, analytics, HRIS system, or other relevant experienceExperience with HRIS system, Workday preferredAbility to display integrity and respect of the client by maintaining confidentiality on issuesStrong consulting and influencing skillsSound research and analytical skillsProven decision-making skillsFamiliarity with application development software and hardware platformsPhysical Requirements:M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
