What do you get to do in this position?
The Customs Classification specialist is a member of Global Classification CoE team, consisting of in-house classification experts. This position reports to the Global Classification COE Global Lead (Customs & Tax). The Customs Classification specialist is responsible to define the Customs classification code of all SE products ranges, providing timely key insights and improvements opportunities to SE stakeholders.
The classification role is essential to guarantee SE’s compliance in cross-border transactions but also to provide secure data to our customers.
The job location is in Shanghai, China with some potential business trips.
Responsabilities\:
Execute SE group companies’ classification policy and guidelines.Be accountable for Customs classification for commercial references products, collecting and analyzing technical data from LoB products experts and uploading into SE global customs automated trade tool database.Act as the final arbiter for product Customs classification disputes between entities within the SE group company organization.Perform periodic audits on product Customs classification.Ensure that the Customs classifications used by the SE Group is compliant with the local regulations. Prepare defending position and arguments to be provided to Customs Authorities in case of audit or any Customs classification inquiries/disputes.Develop arguments for and manage product Customs classification ruling requests with local Customs authorities, with support of local BU and external resources.Monitor global and country legislation related to product Customs classification to update or amend accordingly product classification in SE global database.Prepare periodic reports & metrics to monitor the customs classification database robustness. Support on other Customs classification-related projects.Competencies\: Review / comprehend technical specifications, drawings, or other product information.Perform research (online or otherwise) to obtain necessary product details for Customs classification purposes.Strong analytics on power electronics and electronic components, having a good overview of SE products offer and their functionalities.Capable to anticipate impact of legislation and / or business decisions.Effectively change management.Work in multi-cultural corporate business setting.Excellent interpersonal skills and communications.
