HS&E Lead

Job Summary:

As the HS&E Lead, you will be responsible for applying professional Health and Safety practices at a work/project site. You will be providing advice and recommendations to operations and clients on health and safety matters while providing guidance to HS&E personnel. You demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of safety management systems, legislation, and standards, and applies them effectively in various work settings with minimal guidance.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develops and conducts Hazard Assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviorsConducts focus audits of HS&E plan requirements, reports findings and verifies implementation of corrective actions Provides guidance to operations management at site level regarding company HS&E programs and program implementationPerforms site implementation of HS&E processes and practices, and addresses issues relating to HS&E, emergency response, performance metrics, and safety management systems on-siteAssesses effectiveness of corrective action plan resulting from incidents, inspections, audits, and overall performanceAnalyzes leading and lagging indicators and develops recommendations for improvement based on data analysisConduct incident investigation, identifying root causes for complex investigationsProvide training and guidance to operations on incident investigation processes and best practicesSupports the supervisor in the occupational injury and illness management program and monitoring the return-to-work processImplement measures to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses through proactive safety initiatives

Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years of relevant HS&E, trade, or industry experienceIn-depth understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, policies, and regulatory requirementsDemonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with an aptitude for learning various computer software systemsExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsAttention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skillsProven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy, fostering cooperation and compliance with HS&E standardsAbility to solve complex problems by evaluating existing solutions and exercising independent judgement to drive effective outcomes

Work Conditions

Candidate should be based in the locations mentioned above or are willing to relocate to this areaField responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditionsTravel to various sites and office locations (approximately 25-50% of the time) is required
