HSDU Technician
  Job Overview

Due to an increase in work we are looking for flexible, enthusiastic, self motivated individuals to join our team.  The department is responsible for the cleaning, inspection, assembly, packing and sterilising of surgical equipment.  No experience necessary as full training is given.

 

Main Duties

To work in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. To reprocess reusable medical devices in a controlled environment. To receive and prepare contaminated equipment for washing through an automated process. To reassemble and pack equipment to customer requirements. To load equipment into sterilisers and unload. To dispatch equipment to theatres, wards and departments To safely operate decontamination equipment and undertake routine testing as required. To undertake general housekeeping of workstations and dispose of clinical/household waste. To report and defects of equipment to Supervisors To assist in departmental audits. To assist in investigating any non-conformances. To undertake any training appropriate to HSDU and to complete all mandatory training.   What we are looking for Good standard of education Good level of numeracy and literacy To be a team player To be flexible To be able to stand for long periods Excellent communication skills To be able to work in a very busy environment
