Weatherford is seeking a dedicated HSE Advisor to join our team. This role combines comprehensive health, safety, and environmental responsibilities with specialised hazardous materials management to ensure operational excellence across our facilities.
Responsibilities:
HSE Management
Facilitate implementation of Weatherford's Global HSE Operational Excellence and Performance System (OEPS) Support HSE initiatives and awareness campaigns to drive engagement Provide HSE guidance to various product lines and operational business units Implement and manage auditing programs with focus on corrective action effectiveness Review contractor HSE plans and ensure compliance through regular inspections Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development Review HSE components of client tenders and proposals Serve as HSE focal point for major onshore and offshore projects Prepare HSE reports for management and clients Conduct site visits to monitor adherence to HSE standards
HAZMAT Management
Support the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in maintaining licenses and permits for hazardous materials Ensure proper documentation and traceability of radioactive materials (RAM) Maintain hazmat employee records and control access to hazardous materials Verify proper marking and labelling of RAM shields and transportation containers Manage radiation dosimeter program in compliance with local regulations Conduct hazmat audits and lead root cause analysis for hazmat incidents Coordinate international imports/exports of hazardous materials (IATA/IMDG certification required) Validate compliance through field site visits to explosives magazines, radiation bunkers, and lithium battery storage facilities Ensure proper hazmat waste storage and disposal per regulatory requirements Develop local HazMat procedures aligned with OEPS standards Test and improve facility hazmat emergency response plans
Required:
Minimum 3 years of experience in an HSE role Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including OSHA regulations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Adaptability to changing situations and environments Commitment to continuous professional development Fluent in English both written and verbal No visa sponsorship provided therefore only nationals can be considered at this stage
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field preferred
