UGL's utilities business undertakes essential design construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.
Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design construct projects across Australia. Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures. Our work spans from the engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.
The Opportunity
UGL Utilities team are currently looking for aHSE Advisorfor a substation and high voltage transmission line project in WA.
Some key responsibilities of this role will include:
•Monitor and interpret relevant HSSE legislation, policies and regulations in order to provide direction and advice to projects which meet statutory and corporate objectives and responsibilities.
•Provide advice and coaching to Project Managers, Supervisors, and Construction Managers on project specific HSSE reporting Analysis for client and management needs.
•Liaise with customers, external regulatory bodies’ state organisations responsible for work place safety and ensure compliance and compatibility with their systems and processes.
•Design and deploy safety culture change initiatives aimed at increasing the focus and attention to safety and environment in the business.
About you
•Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or greater) in a Workplace Safety and Health related discipline
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in Safety, Health and Environmental Management in Construction/Infrastructure industry
•Excellent knowledge of the OHS, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation
•Demonstrated capability to develop and implement safety management systems
•Thorough knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, ISO31000
•Cert IV Training and Assessment
•Strong communication skills
