Position Summary

Thales is looking for an HSE Coordinator to deploy and promote the site sustainability HSE programs and Management Systems. Support HSE manager in ensuring the company is compliant to Thales, customer and regulatory requirements. Support necessary programs created by HSE manager to ensure all HSE site certifications ISO14001 and ISO45001 are executed and maintained. 

In this position, you will also deploy the site regulatory and product training program created by HSE manager and ensure timely completion and record keeping. Monitor work environments to ensure site is compliant with CAL-OSHA, Title 22 and applicable regulatory agencies. Ensure all near misses, accidents and/or incidents are thoroughly investigated to determine and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. The site safety and environmental training is to maintained to determine the necessary training required from applicable risk assessments.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Promote and aid the site with HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) compliance and HSE Management System tasks and activities; Aid with compliance of company processes to Thales, customer and regulatory HSE requirements; Assist with the execution of activities to all site HSE certifications (ISO14001 and ISO 45001) for proper system maintenance; Aid with compliance to all applicable HSE regulations/requirements (Federal HSE Requirements, CAL-OSHA, CAL-EPA, FL-DEP, ISO etc...).Execute and promote HSE training necessary for all company employees; Aid with internal audit activities; Update HSE policies, programs and procedures with Group Policies, Tools and Processes.Capture and track data in support of site objectives, targets, programs, compliance and HSE Management reviews; Aid in activities supportive of Continual improvement initiatives throughout the HSE program.Communicate and collaborate with employees - individual and in teams - to ensure the facility is functioning efficiently and effectively to support the business and program needs and requirements; Support HSE manager in evaluating any site specific construction projects; Promote site safety or environmental awareness through Rideshare programs, safety awareness initiatives and company
employee events.  Investigate all near misses, accidents and/or incidents to determine and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence; Access all Chorus documentation and participate in the internal and external audit process of ISO Standard audits, Regulatory; Compliance auditing, and Regulatory Inspections as well.  With limited supervision, must be able to work ethically, deliver a detailed high quality work product, be results oriented in a fast paced changing environment and handle pressure situations ensuring accuracy, attention to details and consistency in work.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree in Safety or a related discipline with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience or a High School Diploma / General Education Development (GED) Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience required.Knowledge of HSE regulatory activities and tasks; Emergency Response Training and Knowledge; Basic Facilities and Maintenance Skills; CAL-OSHA, regulations and requirements for General Industry; Computer skills to include MS word, excel, access, teams, etc.; Knowledge of working with spreadsheets and tracking, trending and analysis of data. Effectively communicate skills (clear, concise, accurate) both written and verbally.Knowledge of SDS, LOTO, Bloodborne pathogens and emergency preparedness requirements; Ability to work independently and handle pressure situations; Comfortable working in a team collaborative atmosphere with local and international players; Accuracy, attention to details and consistency in work with the ability to train others.Ability to understand complex issues quickly and develop appropriate solutions; Investigate and recommend actions related to accidents or incidents; Capture and track data in support of site objectives, targets, programs, compliance and HSE Management reviews; Aid in activities supportive of Continual Improvement initiatives throughout the HSE program.Communicate and collaborate with external companies, employees, customers - individual and in teams - to ensure the facility is functioning efficiently and effectively to support the business and program needs and requirements; Support reviews of site specific projects complying with local and federal HSE requirements.The ability to handle multiple projects at the same time while being able to keep each project on track and communicate issues with concise and actionable input is essential.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: Monday-Friday, First Shift, 9/80 work week eligible.  May require working outside core business hours.Physical Environment: General office environment, Administration areas, Manufacturing/Production area, R&D lab, Warehouse.Physical Demands: Some stress may occur. May need to go into Hazardous or Shop Floor Environments that could propose moderate physical risk through the following, but not limited to: chemical usage/walking working surfaces/motorized vehicles/lock out tag out, forklift operations, etc.  Flexibility in work schedule required.Travel: 10% expected travel, as required.Regulatory Compliance Requirements: None.

What We Offer

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $63,034.40 - $109,409.60 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
