We have an opportunity for a HSE Engineer II to join us at Honeywell, in Bucharest, where you will be responsible for deploy Health, Safety and Environmental Management System across the country and assist business leaders and employees in continually improving the HSE culture, HSE awareness and accountability systems. Work closely with management to measure and communicate HSE performance. Organize periodical meetings with management/employees to reinforce the HSE requirements and to support with coaching/training in this regard. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Key responsibilities
Responsible for the implementation of Honeywell HSE policies, AOP, STRAP and HSE MS Maturity Assessment across their area of responsibility.Responsible for ensuring 100% compliance with local legal requirements, in strict alignment with updates/changes in subjectEnsure development of Risk Assessment as being the competent person (authorized, per local legislation) and advise on systems and regular reviews. Lead full deployment of the Honeywell HSE processes (Risk Assessment Tool and control plans development, SOM, TMT/Playbook, Safety Observation Reporting, Maturity Assessment/Compliance Obligations in MST) within the country. Ensure that all safety observations have been reported in accordance with Honeywell policy, including investigating the incident for T2 and T1 events, as well as tracking and closing any corrective actions. Assist management in the investigation of accidents, near misses, occupational illnesses and dangerous occurrences to prevent recurrence.Be the contact with the enforcing authorities and notifying them of reportable injuries, occupational illnesses and dangerous occurrences.Participate in project teams and advises project managers on HSE issues relating to the project. Utilises and supports the use of project management tools and techniques (i.e., Six Sigma).Monitor trends and champions injury/illness reduction. Assist managers in management of emergency conditions and containment actions. Ensure deployment of annual medical checks and facilitate access to them for employees, solve issues with medical insurance companies Implement environmental management processes including assisting managers with the management of chemicals, wastes, and pollution prevention. Coordinate industrial hygiene programs, exposure assessments and work closely with the management teams to assure implementation of medical surveillance requirements. Implement HSE risk review and contractor management processes.Key skills and qualifications
University Degree and minimum 5 years’ experience, in-depth expertise in the fieldRegistered occupational safety specialist and Fire Fighting specialist (as per Romania legal requirements)Registered Risk Assessor (as per Romania HSE legal requirements)Registered Environmental specialist (as per Romania legal requirements) – would be an advantageInternal Auditor certification for ISO 45001 – experience in working with management systems Understanding and knowledge of the local HSE legislation relevant to the Honeywell businesses at a site or countryCustomer site/manufacturing HSE experience (would be an advantage) Very good communication skills (writing, speaking) in English, both technical and non-technical HSE information for use in everyday processes (documents writing, attending teleconferences, meetings, etc.); fluency in French, German or other European languages is a plus.Our offer
