Role Overview and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Intern. This internship will provide valuable exposure to various aspects of HSE practices within our organization and is designed for students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in the field. As an HSE Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the HSE team in implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization.
Essential Duties:
Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of HSE policies and proceduresConduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with HSE regulationsParticipate in the identification and evaluation of workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measuresSupport incident investigations, including collecting and analyzing data, and identifying root causes to prevent future occurrencesAssist in development and delivery of HSE training programs for employeesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure HSE requirements are integrated into daily operationsAssist in the compilation and analysis of HSE data, preparing reports, and presenting findings to managementStay up to date with current HSE regulations, permits, and records in accordance with regulatory standardsContribute to the development and promotion of a strong safety culture by organizing safety campaigns, events, and awareness programsOther duties as assigned Qualifications, Skills and AttributesEssential Qualifications:
Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or universityCompletion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a bachelor’s degree programBasic knowledge of project management processes and toolsBasic knowledge of EH&S regulations, workplace hazards, and safety standardsStrong attention to detail and ability to conduct through inspections and auditsStrong problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to write and communicate technical information clearly and conciselyFluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
Preferred Qualifications:
GPA of 3.2 or higherHands-on experience through project teams or previous jobs
