Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to support research, laboratory and manufacturing efforts at our Santa Barbara, CA facility. The Site HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring site environmental and safety programs as well as educating and engaging employees at all levels with these programs. This position also supports building HSE programs for the Americas Field Operations, this includes but is not limited to customer requests, building and conducting training and other safety needs as they arise.
Responsibilities 7+ years of experience in an HSE role in an industrial or laboratory settingBachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fieldThorough knowledge of federal, state and local HSE regulations, including OSHA, EPA and DEPDemonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate and recommend controls for workplace hazardsDemonstrated ability to execute work assignment and perform duties with or without direct supervisionDemonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills; strong attention to detailSuperior communications, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to influence others and to work in a team environmentAbility to manage multiple priorities and to adapt and learn in a changing work environmentExcellent organization, prioritization, verbal, written and presentation skills.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and expedite corrective actions.Strong leadership skills, self-directed, and the ability to make independent decisions and influence change.Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.High level of resilience, and autonomous decision making Qualifications Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferredExperience with environmental permitting, hazardous waste management and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programsExperience leading health and safety initiativesExperience with program development and implementation of new or changing regulationsDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, HSE management software and other platforms as needed Company DescriptionWaters Corporation (NYSE: WAT), the world's leading specialty measurement company, has pioneered chromatography, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis innovations serving the life, materials, and food sciences for over 60 years.
