  The Position Proposition:                                                                                                                                                                     

As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for functional leadership and direct supervision of the HSE team across the Edison Power Constructors West Region. As the regional leader and subject matter expert in HSE, this position drives implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management System and ensures compliance with regulatory and company standards. This role also provides tactical HSE guidance and talent management of the HSE team and works with operational leadership to deliver continuous improvement in HSE performance.

This is a full-time, permanent position, located in Cotati, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring compliance to Federal, State & local regulations and conformance to HSE Management System and program requirements. Responsible for direct supervision of HSE staff, ensuring effective field engagement, training, development, coaching, and mentoring for talent management. Analyze HSE trends and develop strategic action plans with Operations Leaders to support continuous improvement of HSE performance. Serve as the main point of contact for regulators, clients, and sub-contractors concerning HSE related issues. Provide support in the development and distribution of HSE-related data for bid packages etc. Support Business Development and Commercial functions in the pursuit of new projects/work through the creation of HSE documentation and attending high-level customer visits where necessary. Develop and deliver HSE-related reports, presentations, and/or training as requested. Assists in incident investigations, HSE inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. Facilitate working groups for HSE systems improvement and special projects.

 

 Educational & Minimum Requirements:                                                                                                                                           Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline preferred, or combination of relevant education and experience. 5+ years of industry relevant HSE experience required. Must hold or be working toward professional certifications, e.g., CUSP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, REM, CHS, etc. Detailed understanding of Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization. Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with customers and regulators. Ability to collaborate and work with multiple group internal and external, effectively working through challenging issues. Must be able to lead individuals toward a common goal and purpose in pursuit of safety excellence.
