We are seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to excellence in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.
About the Role
As a Senior Safety Advisor, you will take a flexible and proactive approach to oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of BGIS's safety and environmental systems. Your expertise will ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, WHS standards, and environmental management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance with ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and AS/NZS ISO 14001 standards. Provide expert advice on WHSE matters to stakeholders across the business. Oversee the maintenance and updates of WHSE processes, procedures, and records. Manage and conduct internal and external WHSE audits. Deliver WHSE training programs and support compliance staff. Lead investigations and provide operational support for safety-related incidents. Support business growth through contributions to tenders, fee proposals, and client communications. Ensure WHSE policies and procedures are upheld across contracts and subcontractors.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety Management (minimum). Experience in OH&S Advisor role with proven audit experience. In-depth knowledge of ISO 45001 and AS/NZS ISO 14001. Significant experience in construction, property management, or facility management. Expertise in integrated services, including property, facilities, and financial management. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CMMS systems. Familiarity with Queensland WHSQ and ESQ legislative requirements.Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in OH&S Management or a related discipline. OH&S Auditor certification. First Aid and CPR certification. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116). ICAM or TapRoot Lead Investigator certification.
