HSEQ Manager – BGIS

Location: Sydney Employment Type: Full Time Permanent Role Working: Hybrid, 4 days in office,1 day from home

We are seeking a highly motivated HSEQ Manager to join our team and drive excellence in Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental (WHSE) management across our operations.

About the Role

Using a flexible and adaptable approach, the HSEQ Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of BGIS’ Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management systems. Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations. Maintaining WHS system compliance with AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001. Maintaining Environmental system compliance with AS/NZS ISO 14001. Providing WHSE expertise for BGIS. Managing and updating WHSE processes, procedures, and records on the BGIS Intranet and online WHSE services. Leading internal and external WHSE audits. Providing WHSE training and technical support to contract compliance staff. Supporting contract transitions (new contracts and resecured contracts). Contributing to business growth through tenders, proposals, and expressions of interest. Investigating OH&E incidents and ensuring policies and procedures are maintained by all stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Substantial experience in an OH&S supervisor or manager role. Proven experience conducting OH&S audits. Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems) and AS/NZS ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems). 5+ years’ experience in construction, property management, or facility management industries. Strong experience in a property or corporate real estate environment or a senior role in a similarly complex industry. Proven ability to work within an integrated services and property model, delivering Property Management, Facilities Management, Project Management, and Financial Management Services. Strong business acumen with demonstrated planning and financial skills. Ability to respond quickly to change and apply a flexible and innovative approach. Proficiency in desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge and experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Desirable:

2+ years’ experience in an Environmental supervisor/manager role. Knowledge of OHAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.

Education & Certifications

Essential:

Formal tertiary qualifications in Property, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline. Certificate IV in OH&S Management.

Desirable:

Diploma in OH&S Management or higher qualification in a relevant discipline. Completion of an OH&S auditor course.
