The Role
SRG Global is seeking an experienced and motivated HSET Superintendent to lead and drive the strategic direction of health, safety, environment, and training objectives within our Northwest Contract. This role is ideal for a dynamic safety professional with a strong track record of influencing change, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced and high-risk environment.
This is a hybrid role based out of Subiaco, with flexibility to work both remotely and in the office. The position requires regular FIFO travel to various project sites, meaning the successful candidate must be comfortable with a significant amount of travel, including working on-site in remote and high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of SRG Global’s safety and quality standards across the business, ensuring alignment with our Zero Harm culture. Develop strong relationships at all levels of the organisation, providing expert advice to management and operational leaders on safety regulations, policies, and best practices. Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace health and safety risks in collaboration with operational leaders. Lead ICAM investigations into incidents, providing root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Manage risk registers and oversee the SRG Global HSET system to ensure effective tracking and resolution of safety issues. Drive operational audits and compliance assessments to ensure alignment with legal and company requirements. Maintain and manage the audit schedule, ensuring the timely execution of internal audits. Prepare and present detailed safety reports, analyzing trends and recommending improvement strategies. Guide the team in conducting risk assessments and managing high-risk activities, with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment. Oversee FIFO rosters for HSE Advisors, ensuring sufficient coverage for operational needs. Provide mentorship and coaching to HSE Advisors, fostering their professional growth and leadership capabilities. Monitor and respond to safety concerns, particularly for teams working outside regular hours in high-risk environments. Manage the HSET Event Management System and SafetyCulture system to proactively address and manage lead indicators. Collaborate with the compliance department to maintain accurate training records, ensuring all safety certifications and qualifications are up to date. Lead internal training programs to build HSET awareness across teams and support ongoing safety education. Coordinate Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Committee activities to address and resolve key risk areas. Assist with the development and updating of HSET policies and procedures to meet evolving safety standards. Support project management teams in implementing safety action plans and responding to audit outcomes. Contribute to special projects that align with SRG Global’s broader organizational goals.The successful applicant will ideally have:
Minimum 5 years health and safety leadership experience. Experienced with supporting multiple disciplines. Experience in high-risk environments and the mining industry is mandatory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in computer systems; experience with MyOSH is desirable. High attention to detail and data processing accuracy. Ability to multitask and prioritise a diverse range of tasks.About Us
