ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent position on a 4:3 roster with the occasional requirement to extend this to and 8:6 roster to undertake Duty Manager responsibilities, this is consistent with the Cannington Lead Team arrangements, FIFO from Brisbane/Townsville or DIDO from Mount Isa/Cloncurry/McKinlay to Cannington.
Domestic relocation to Brisbane or Townsville from anywhere in Australia is provided.
As the HSRET Manager, you will be responsible for leading and driving health, safety, risk, envrionment and training standards while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across operations.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
Developing and implementing 12-month action plans for health, safety, risk, environment & training. Overseeing safety and risk management programs and ensuring legislative compliance. Reporting on performance metrics and implementing initiatives for continuous improvement. Leading the HSRET team, managing budgets, and fostering leadership across operations.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Proven leadership in developing and influencing operational practices in health and safety. Experience in managing multi-specialised teams and leading strategic change in an operational environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills to influence key stakeholders. Ability to navigate complex, evolving environments and ensure business continuity. Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability.
Qualifications for this position are:
Bachelor’s degree (Science/Engineering/Safety) Post graduate qualification in WHS (desirable)
