HTM Biomedical Sterilization Specialist
**JOB SUMMARY** Reporting to the HTM Manager, the role of the HTM Biomedical Sterilization Specialist is to provide preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and installation support on various mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units located in hospital Sterile Services Department and Operating Environments - Equipment will include Steam Sterilizers, Washer Disinfectors, Ultrasonic Cleaners, and Low Temperature Sterilizers, along with other Biomedical equipment. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE** + Perform preventative and corrective maintenance required on assigned assets and related equipment - e.g. disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating by using standard and specialized tools. + Ability to troubleshoot, repair, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components. + Perform installations, regular maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on assigned medical equipment to ensure their proper operation and function. + Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections as assigned. + Perform administrative duties as assigned to ensure effective planning, utilization, and required paperwork completion. This includes but is not limited to: communicating schedule changes to the HTM Manager; complete service reports and activities after completing service event, and maintain tools and parts inventory. + Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers. + Communicate activities to customers include scheduling of Preventive Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work. + Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to assure customer’s expectations of service are exceeded. + Respond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance or direct questions straight to more experienced colleagues. + Maintain courteous, smart, and professional demeanor when working with staff, vendors, management, and co-workers. + Periodically travels to other Baylor facilities to assist with scheduled and unscheduled service activities. + Ability to participate in on-call rotation. **KEY SUCCESS FACTORS** + 5 years of general biomedical experience or related field is required. + 2 years of sterilization experience preferred. + Ability to solve complex mechanical/system problems utilizing technical manuals, publications, and technical support. + Knowledge of Healthcare standards is essential. + Applicant’s knowledge of industrial controls, and central processing systems is advantageous. + General knowledge of the following: principles and methods of sterilization. Software experience, including MS office applications. + International Certification Commission certificate preferred + Maintains a safe driving record + Solid knowledge of computerized systems: recordkeeping, PM, work order systems, timekeeping, etc. + Able to learn various departmental and BSWH software programs + Able to complete and maintain any licensure or certification(s) required by the position. + Have exceptional technical, mechanical, data-based and problem solving skills. + Physically able to reach, raise, work atop, move along the ground or see and work in tight and/or dim places. + Able to interact and communicate with all staff and management in English in a positive and professional way. + Able to communicate appropriately verbally and in writing using the English language. + Able to comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos and other forms of verbal and written communication. + Able to read and follow instructions. + Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional way + Able to work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment. **BENEFITS -** Our competitive benefits package includes the following + Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits + 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% + Tuition Reimbursement + PTO accrual beginning Day 1 _Note: Benefits may vary based on position type and/or level_ **QUALIFICATIONS** + EDUCATION - Associate's Degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification + EXPERIENCE - 5 years of experience + CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - + Drivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.
