As we continue to develop Marine & Offshore activities, we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join our organisation as Hull Plan Approval Surveyor (fixed-term) at the Plan Approval department. Position is located within our Piraeus office in Greece and you will be welcomed in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.

 

This is a fixed term position.

 

Mission:
As a Hull Plan Approval Surveyor at Bureau Veritas, you will have the exciting opportunity to join our Piraeus office and work with a team of experts responsible for approving the design of various vessels, including Bulk Carriers, Oil Tankers, General Cargo, Yachts and other types of ships.

Functional Competencies: 

Reviewing and validating drawings of marine constructions and equipment according to Class standards and Statutory regulations to ensure compliance. Providing technical support to clients. Continuous development of the level of technical content and data on which the professional judgement is based.

Requirements:

NTUA Degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, or equivalent. Knowledge of the maritime industry is desirable. Minimum 2 years of experience in the relevant field. Advanced knowledge of English language. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Team spirit but also ability to work in autonomy. Great time management skills and ability to work with strict deadlines.

 

 Additional skills that will be considered:

Experience in Structural assessment against IACS class society’s rules. Knowledge of BV software MARS 2000 & STEEL. Familiarity with technical software, such as NAPA, Rhino, FEMAP, VeriStar Stability (BV). Experience in Stability assessment against Class/IMO rules.
