Human-Machine Interfacing Subject Matter Expert - TS/SCI

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to lead efforts associated with integrating Mixed (XR), Augmented (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) from a systems engineering, technical, programmatic and human-machine integration perspective. 

As a Human-Machine Interfacing Subject Matter Expert, you will:

Lead efforts associated with integrating Mixed (XR), Augmented (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) from a systems engineering, technical, programmatic and human-machine integration perspective. This includes: integration and portrayal of Internet of Battlefield Things (IoBT) and other sensors (Visual, I2 and Thermal), collaborative user data, Common Operating Picture (COPs) and AI/ML generated decision to data pathways in defense contexts. Collaborate with other engineers and scientists and work domain experts in the planning, design, development, and testing of new technologies. Week in the life of a Human-Machine Interfacing Subject Matter Expert:

Apply the principles, methods, and techniques of user-based design with an in-depth knowledge of complex AR, XR, VR systems to support the development of human-machine work systems. Define problems and develops and coordinates study/project plans. Apply expertise in knowledge elicitation, systems engineering, user interface design, and human task outcomes to develop and test human-machine interface systems. Document user needs, behaviors, skills, other attributes to inform system design and testing. Utilize mathematical and statistical techniques, elements of human sciences, systems engineering principles, and innovative approaches to develop new solutions to previously highlighted and or new problems or problems, which may be totally lacking in precedent. Document use cases, work models, benchmarks and system and user interface mockups to orient product delivery. Conduct experiment design, oversee test and evaluation, and communicate the value proposition of human-machine interface optimization across key mission areas in the development of Strategic Roadmaps and their implementation in the near-term to accelerate technology adoption in the COCOMs. Prioritize user feedback and assists the team in driving usability and utility improvements. Contribute systems engineering expertise to new concepts of operation and technology transition.
