Human Performance Specialist
Parkview North Hospital
The Strength and Conditioning Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate training programs for athletes affiliated with Parkview Sports Medicine's 31 partnered schools and 10 youth sports clubs. This role involves organizing, leading, and supervising large-group training sessions, including adult and medical fitness classes as well as personal training. Additional responsibilities include conducting baseline performance testing for diverse athlete populations, data entry, and facility upkeep to ensure a safe and effective training environment.
Education Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Education, or a related field is required.
Licensure & Certification
+ Certification from a nationally recognized governing body required (e.g., National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, USA Weightlifting, or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association).
+ Current CPR certification is required.
Note: Addendums are required for 0153 Nurse Leader, 0249 Registry RN, 0252 Registered Nurse, 0235 Advanced Registered Nurse, and 0236 Expert Registered Nurse. Addendums can be found on the job description page via Parkview’s intranet.
Experience Requirements
+ Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a human performance or strength and conditioning environment required.
+ Experience leading sport-specific training sessions for youth populations is preferred.
Other Qualifications
+ Strong background in sport-specific resistance training and conditioning.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Effective decision-making abilities.
+ Maturity, reliability, and a strong sense of accountability.
+ Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with coaches, parents, athletes, and fellow PSM staff.
