Human Resource Business Partner

Position Summary:  This Position will support hospital departments in the areas of Employee Relations, Recruitment, Talent Management and Program Development. Employee Relations responsibilities may include, but not limited to, thoroughly and objectively investigating employee complaints; managing and resolving complex employee relations issues; providing HR policy guidance to employees and/or supervisors; and working directly with supervisors and department directors in establishing a climate conducive to attracting and retaining hospital personnel.  Responsibilities in recruitment may include planning, screening, interviewing, salary administration, and advising directors of placement of hospital personnel. This position will work with the HR team to identify and create Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a talented and compassionate workforce. Other duties may include Researching, preparing, and submitting compliance responses, assessing the work environment, identifying problems or concerns where attention is necessary and developing and implementing appropriate programs or action plans in order to promote and maintain a positive, inclusive work environment. 

 

1)  Employee Relations

Assists with development of Human Resources policies for the Hospital with regard to employee relations. Partners with department management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and law. Acts as a resource for department directors, manager’s supervisors and hourly employees for any employee relations matter. Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Advises directors, managers and supervisors about steps in the progressive discipline system of the hospital. Counsels managers on employment issues. Provides coaching and support to all levels of management and staff to resolve issues. Identifies trends and collaborates with management to develop and implement proactive and preventive HR strategies. Ensures consistent and equitable administration, interpretation and application of human resources policies and procedures.

 

2)  Recruitment

Responsible for developing and implementing recruitment and advertising programs to ensure that proper labor markets are identified and qualified candidates are recruited for existing Griffin Faculty Physicians vacancies. Prescreening process is to ensure that applicants possess the necessary position requirements with emphasis on candidates personifying the Planetree Attitude.   Determines their level of motivation, initiative and ability to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.  Advises appropriate Department Directors of qualified candidates. Processes paperwork for selected candidates for employment in an accurate and timely manner according to established department procedures. Responsible for equitable salary administration in all recruiting endeavors. Facilitate exit interviews with employees to gather information regarding company policies, benefits, salary and work environment. Responsible for seeking, screening, and hiring physicians to practice medicine for hospital and outpatient healthcare practices. This includes posting positions, screening applicants, conducting preliminary interviews, and liaising with the physician and potential hiring manager. Maintains positive relationships with third party recruiters to ensure the smooth and successful recruitment for physician openings. Attends weekly physician recruiting meetings. Facilitates and coordinates physician visits with executives and stakeholders.

 

3) Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals.

Is courteous to patients, visitors, and employees.  Uses appropriate language for the work setting. Projects a positive image of the Hospital when dealing with physicians, patients & families, visitors, and staff. Responds to requests in a friendly, co-operative manner. Establishes cooperative working relationships with hospital staff.  Performs all functions in accordance with institutional & departmental policies & procedures. Observes all hospital policies and regulations governing conduct while at work.

Knowledge and Skills

Excellent analytical, organizational and computer skills required. Must be able to work independently and be able to multi-task and adjust priorities as needed. Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact effectively with all Griffin Health caregivers with compassion and courtesy.

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or close related field required. 8 years’ experience in the Human Resources field that includes extensive employee relations and recruiting involvement with an understanding of State and Federal laws and regulations affecting employment. Previous success in coordinating and implementing employee/organizational development projects.
