Position Title:    Human Resource Coordinator Human Resources

Reports to:         Human Resource Administrator & Benefits Administrator Full-Time; 40 hours per week/12 months

Appointment:     Full-Time; 40 hours per week/12 months

Status:                Non-Exempt

Pay Rate:           $16.00 per hour


Summary:

This position supports the Human Resources Department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The human resource coordinator  will have both administrative and specific  human  resource department related responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as the first point of contact for the HR department, addressing employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.Responsible for non-exempt recruitment including creating and managing job requisitions in the HRIS system, posting positions on external sites, reviewing candidates, and facilitating selection and hiring processes.Providing guidance and support to hiring managers and applicants.Develops recruitment plans in collaboration with the hiring manager and executes on that plan.Builds talent networks internally and externally to the university to find qualified active and passive candidates.Prepares employment offer letters and assists new employees with onboarding.Conducts pre-employment testing (typing, computer skills) as needed.Ensures reference and background checks are completed as required.Review, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.Liaise with the HR operations team to troubleshoot and solve issues involving employee issues or transactions.Assists with tasks to aid in the administration and execution of human resource programs.Prepare and maintain various human resource records, ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality or information (i.e., new hire paperwork, l-9s, etc.).Complete various employee group billing processes.Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Perform other duties as assigned.Experience and Education Requirements:Minimum of an Associate's Degree.1 to 2 years of office or related business experience, preferably in human resources.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsEffective communicator in person, via email and telephone with students, parents, University personnel and external constituentsProficiency in business applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suite, video conferencing, data entry, and cloud based video conferencing applications)Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and recruitment systemKnowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsAbility to compose correspondenceAbility to perform detailed job tasks with accuracyExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesHigh regard for sensitive and confidential information with discretionAbility to work/interact with diverse groups of peopleAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
