Summary

As the Director of Talent and Development for Manufacturing Operations, your role is to ensure efficient execution of operational functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your main responsibility is to lead the on-site Talent and Development teams at multiple locations, ensuring they support and coordinate the consistent and practical application of Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices for all team members to create a healthy and engaged manufacturing environment. Previous leadership experience in a human resources manufacturing environment is essential.

Primary Responsibilities 

Facilitate collaboration and foster a harmonious work environment among various departments within manufacturing facilities, acting as a liaison between Operations, Team Members (both agency and full-time), and Talent and development.Act as an advisor to leaders (Site Leader, QA, Sanitation, Maintenance) by guiding employmentrelated issues, performance management, Team Member engagement, learning, and development.Implement and manage a wide range of Talent and development programs, such as UYP 7c’s, Open-Door, LEM, ELL, Team Member Engagement surveys, Let’s Connect sessions, Talent Grids, and Performance Cycle Overview.As a change management champion, support the organization in managing changes effectively.Responsible for overseeing internal plant communications, including various channels such as FGF24, workplace, shift huddles, and communication boards, to ensure consistent and up-to-date information.Responsible for overseeing agency audits, documenting the findings, and leading dashboard meetings to review key performance indicators.Responsible for creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.Oversee the hiring, training (SOPs and Systems), and engagement of Talent and development onsite teams. Provide guidance, mentoring, and leadership for their personal and professional growth.Adherence to regulations and laws (local and provincial) through the implementation of essential policies and procedures.Support and contribute to leadership development (TLs, LL’s, SLs/Ops) through focused development strategies (UYP, ELL), including talent and performance managementProvides guidance to leaders on employment policies and practices to ensure compliance, positive team member relations, and mitigate litigation.Support all plant lunches, Let’s Connect Sessions, and town hall meetings, presenting at times as required.Build and maintain positive working relations to execute different initiatives efficiently from all cross-functional teams. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, L&D, Health Safety and Wellness, and other teams for strategic execution.Adopt a continuous improvement mindset, focus on root cause analysis, and bring forth ideas for review.Support and execute any projects or initiatives identified through the T&D Horizon Chart.Responsible for identifying and developing high-potential team members for future leadership roles through the Talent Grid process.Utilize HR Metrics and Analytics to make informed decisions and recommendations.Conduct/oversee internal investigations related to allegations of serious misconduct, harassment, or serious violation of company policies. Ensure fairness and consistency across all sites.Develop a strategic approach to workforce planning, which includes assessing current and future staffing needs, identifying skill gaps, and implementing recruitment strategies accordingly 

Required Experience

Minimum 6 Years of progressive Human Resources experienceMinimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity within a Human Resources functionCompleted post-secondary education in Human Resources ManagementPrevious experience with recruitment and selection, Employment Standards; Team Member
relations, health & safety, performance & rewardsCHRP designation or working towards is an assetExcellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
