Human Resource Generalist
Under the direction of the Senior HR Manager for Connecticut as well as HR Department Team leads, performs a variety of human resources support functions including benefits, and operational/data support. Acts as benefits and leave administration lead for Connecticut. Works closely with colleagues throughout the Human Resources Department to ensure that all employment and labor related laws are adhered to, and that work is performed accurately and on time. Serves as back-up for the Senior HR Manager in Connecticut as needed.   Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential job duties/responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the information listed below:

Serves as the subject matter expert for the Connecticut leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and the legal department. Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, CT-FML, ADA, USERRA, Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, etc.). Administers all aspects of Connecticut leave programs. Independently approves and/or denies leave cases based on relevant medical information. Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed. Oversees the proper and timely digitization of all leave related files. Works closely with Payroll to ensure that pay for employees on leave is accurate and correct. Works closely with employees and managers to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all employees on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for associates on leave. Acts as back-up to the Senior HR Manager in his/her absence or as workload Communicates and collaborates with HR teammates to ensure consistency and quality of practices and work.
