Our client is a growing organization looking to expand their team with an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resources Administrator. The HR and payroll functions are currently managed by the Production Manager and VP Finance, and we are seeking an individual to take on these responsibilities as the company continues to grow. This part-time role (3-4 days per week) offers flexibility with start times and is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in HR administration.
Hours: 24 to 32 hours per week (3-4 days), with flexible start times (7:00, 8:00, or 8:30 am). Location: In-office role at our client's location. Lawrence and Victoria Park. Pay: $28 - $33 per hour, based on experience.Responsibilities:
Time & Attendance Management: Oversee the time and attendance system, ensuring accurate capture of hourly employees for payroll. Payroll Administration: Manage payroll for hourly (bi-weekly) and salaried (semi-monthly) employees. Employee Benefits: Administer employee benefit programs such as health benefits, RRSP, and other perks, while assisting employees with benefit-related inquiries and enrollment. Recruitment: Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and candidate selection. Onboarding & Orientation: Facilitate the onboarding and orientation process for new employees. Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate employee files and records in compliance with HR policies. Employee Relations: Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures. Compensation Support: Assist with the development and maintenance of compensation structures and provide support for salary reviews. HR & Health and Safety Policies: Develop, update, and communicate HR and Health and Safety policies and procedures. Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations, including the termination process and exit interviews. Employee Engagement: Coordinate and plan employee events, activities, and recognition programs. HR Reporting: Prepare regular HR metrics and trend reports for internal meetings and strategic planning. Termination Support: Support the management of the termination process, ensuring legal compliance and proper documentation. Health & Safety: Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and other related discussions. Training & Development: Identify training needs and assist in coordinating professional development opportunities for employees. RequirementsRequirements:
Experience: Solid experience in HR administration, including a strong understanding of Canadian payroll laws and best practices. Familiarity with ADP payroll systems is a plus. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong Organizational Skills: Must be highly organized with excellent time management skills. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership, providing clear guidance on HR policies and processes.
