Essential Functions and Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of programs that increase employee retention, safety, efficiency, and training. Provides administrative support to the HR Manager in areas of recruitment, benefits, payroll support, on-boarding and various other projects instrumental to the department success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures for all company employees. *

Provide administrative support in FMLA, FLA, OFLA, and Worker’s compensation.

Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. *

Maintain the recruitment statistics report

Responsible for pre-employment paperwork including background checks and background screening.

Assist with annual and continual benefit enrollment for employees including reconciliation of invoices*

Respond to unemployment benefit request and employment verifications*

Assist with EEO-1, OSHA and other government reporting*

Assist in the administration in performance review tracking*

Provide support to recruitment and on-boarding process for new hires

Make photocopies, scan, or fax documents and perform various clerical functions within the department*

Responsible for managing the HR help desk and responding to employees with questions*

Responsible for the administration of the employee portal. *

Conduct audits of various payroll, benefits, or other HR programs as requested.

Responsible for the administration of updating manuals such as employee handbook, standard operating procedures and other documents.

Assist HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects. *

Serve as a support to the HR team*

Assist or prepare HR correspondence. *

Maintain employee files, and records in database*

 

Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled hours*


Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1 year of leave administrationExperience with administration of ADAExperience with multi-state worker’s compensation administrationFamiliar with ADP Workforce NowExperience with administration of unemployment 1-year experience working with benefits

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate (A.A.) degree and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
