Human Resources Assistant

We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to add to our team and provide administrative and operational support to our Human Resources department. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to recruitment and selection, employee engagement, and policy improvement at Friedman Real Estate. You will also have the chance to learn from experienced Human Resources professionals and contribute to Human Resources projects and initiatives.

**This is a hybrid role; three days in office and two days remote**

Responsibilities:

Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Verifies I-9 documentation and keeps up to date on I9 compliance. Conducts audits of various payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action. Updates HRIS system with employee change requests and processes paperwork. Processing of employee terminations. Performance review preparation and issuing to employees/managers. Assists HR Department with various research projects and/or special projects. Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by HR Director. Schedule events/order supplies for companywide activities. Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions. May update company intranet and prepare new hire announcements, promotion announcements, baby announcements, wedding announcements, etc. Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; assists with preparing and maintaining the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Conducts or acquires pre-employment screenings and employee eligibility verifications. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains HRIS system with accurate employee information, compiles necessary reports, and company organization charts as needed. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. Participates in planning and executing companywide activities. Participates in open enrollment for benefits companywide. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Computer proficiency Preferred knowledge with an HRIS or HRMS Basic knowledge of employment laws Excellent organizational skills Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Comfortable interacting with clients and internal staff alike Associates degree in related field; Bachelor's degree preferred One (1) year in related position, preferred
